The Cost of Waiting: When Truth Waits Too Long

I almost waited another day. Another moment. Another wave of discomfort, swallowing it down like I had so many times before. The tension was high, but the timing didn’t feel “perfect” yet. My mind said: "Maybe tomorrow will be better. Maybe the signs will be clearer."

Then came the bounce. Literally. I was riding in the passenger seat with my honey, hauling our boat trailer, empty and light. Every small bump on the road sent small inconsistent shakes through the truck, and those tremors found their way into my chest. I could feel the unspoken words rattling inside me. Truth was ready to move.
By the time we returned to the lake, I was still waiting for a sign. A butterfly, perhaps? A soft nod from the Universe? None appeared. But the moment had already opened. And I stepped in.
What followed was imperfect and deeply human. I didn’t have a script. I didn’t say things eloquently. But I spoke my truth. And in doing so, I reclaimed something that had been slipping away: myself.
Why We Wait
We wait for clarity. We wait for courage. We wait for the perfect time, perfect words, perfect conditions.
And while we wait, life keeps moving. Relationships unravel in the silence. Opportunities slip by. And the dissonance within us grows. Waiting becomes a kind of protection, but one that slowly hardens into a shell.
When truth is withheld, our energy contracts. Our bodies feel it. Our thoughts spiral. And our souls start to whisper, louder and louder: "Come home."
Truth Doesn’t Hurt. Avoiding It Does.
Speaking truth doesn’t mean confrontation or drama. It means coherence. It means finally choosing to align your inner knowing with your outer expression.
When I finally spoke to my honey, what shifted wasn’t just between us — it was within me. The tension that had been distorting my behavior began to dissolve. I felt lighter, more present, more grounded in who I am.
The truth didn’t fix everything. But it cleared the fog. And from there, real choice became possible again.
What Are You Waiting to Face?
If you’re reading this, perhaps there’s a truth sitting just beneath the surface in your own life.
Something you’ve been circling around. Something that keeps tugging at you in quiet moments.
The longer we wait to look at it, the louder life will shake us. (Sometimes literally.)
If this reflection stirred something in you — a recognition, a desire, or even just a whisper of “it’s time” — you’re not alone.
This is the kind of honest unfolding I hold space for in my Discovery Sessions — gentle but powerful explorations that invite your higher wisdom to guide the way.
When you're ready to speak truth — to yourself first — I’m here. Learn more or book your session here
With care,
Julie
